Sullivan City Park to add pickleball thanks to 100 Women!

Good afternoon 100 Women Who Care! If you missed the meeting yesterday, here is a recap:

We had a really great turnout last night for the first quarter meeting of 100 Women Who Care! The rain didn’t dampen our fun! We had three great presentations to kick off the year.

First, Ellen Tucker presented on behalf of the Sullivan City Park. The Park wants to turn two of their tennis courts that have fallen into disrepair and are no longer used into pickleball courts. They have received a bid from a company in Indianapolis for $25,000 to complete this project.

Second, Angie Boyd presented for the Rural Community Academy Beta Club. The Beta Club would use these funds to take students to Savannah, Georgia to the 2018 National Beta Convention where they will compete in a variety of subjects like visual arts, math, social studies and more. This trip costs $400 per student.

Third, Ally Orwig presented for the Sullivan County Community Hospital Fitness Center Well Program. This program strives to help people lose weight and change their overall lifestyle to improve the quality and length of their life. There has been one group of people through the program and they are now on the 2nd group of participants. Participants receive help with budgeting, get a fitness trainer, and a membership to the fitness center. The Well Program would use these funds to open the program up to more participants and resources. Right now the program is limited because it is free to all participants!

After a fun game from Suzanne Gorgas, and a quick update from Mary Ann Dudley (Good news, BOTH of the ambulances at the Carlisle Lions Community Ambulance are in working order!) the ladies voted and the winner was…
