Kimberly was born in Muncie, Indiana. She grew up in a family of strong Polish traditions and Catholic values, influenced by her father’s Irish heritage. Her father was transferred often for work, but by junior high, the family had settled in White Lake, just west of Pontiac, Michigan. Kim loved music, boating, water skiing, sports-cars, and her Catholic faith. She once considered entering the ministry as a nun.
Kim graduated from the University of Notre Dame and had a successful career at General Motors. She married David Wulf and had three children, Jennifer, Brian, and Caitlin. She left her job to stay home with their children full-time. Kim was a devoted Catholic and did anything she could for the Sacred Heart School. Even though her own children were not yet school age, Kim was committed to improving Sacred Heart School. She volunteered as a member of the Sacred Heart School Committee, the Board of Education, and the Marketing Committee for Sacred Heart Catholic School.
On April 15, 1993, Kim sadly passed away of a sudden illness while visiting her parents in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Kimberly Jeanne Fowler Wulf Fund was created in memory of Kim in 1993 by David, with the assistance of Kim’s parents, Joe and Jeanne Fowler. Originally, this fund was to provide one or more scholarships in Kim’s name so that a deserving child could attend Sacred Heart School. Now that the school has closed, Kim’s family wishes for the fund to go to a graduate of a Vigo County high school attending the University of Notre Dame. In addition, the student must have attended a Vigo County parochial school (elementary, middle, or high school) for at least four years. Preference will be given to students that once attended Sacred Heart of Jesus School.
Eligibility requires that:
- You will be a graduate of a Vigo County high school attending the University of Notre Dame.
- You attended a Vigo County parochial school (elementary, middle, or high school) for at least four years.
- Preference will be given to students that once attended Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Terre Haute.
