Albert and Verna McKee Memorial Scholarship Fund

Albert and Verna McKee were born in Clay County but lived all their married life in Sullivan County. They believed honesty, hard work and consideration for others provided the most satisfactory way to live. He was a farmer, miner and businessman. She was a proud homemaker who tended the children, sewed, cooked, canned, and otherwise presided over a flourishing and productive family.

They taught their strong values to their five children along with a healthy respect for education. All five graduated from college and include two teachers, a nurse, a veterinarian and an engineer. They would be pleased to know their diligence and thrifty ways are still contributing to someone’s educational aspirations.

The Albert and Verna McKee Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in the Sullivan County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, to provide scholarships to individuals who, within the prior ten years, have graduated from North Central High School in Sullivan County, Indiana.

Eligibility requires that:

  • You are a graduate of North Central High School within the last 10 years.
