100 WWC Sullivan County Awards $8,900 to Carlisle Lions Community Ambulance

100 Women Who Care in Sullivan County met on August 16th for the 3rd quarter meeting, here is a meeting recap:

First, we want to thank last night’s sponsor Sullivan Grain for providing the refreshments! They were needed because the competition was stiff right off the bat…

The Steering Committee got the party started with a “Scavenger Hunt” ice breaker that was so much fun and was a huge hit with the members! It got everyone talking to each other and now we know that we have very, very few skydivers among us!! Thank you to Jen Petty of Petty Pit Stop for donating the gift card for that endeavor. That was an absolute blast and if you are interested in joining the Steering Committee, please let Emily know, anyone can be involved with helping to make decisions for 100 Women Who Care!

  • First, Karissa Huff presented on behalf of Sullivan County Park and Lake asking for funds for new playground equipment for the park. The total budget is $60,000 and so far they have raised 12% of the funds needed to provide safe, sensory stimulating park equipment for children of all capabilities aged 2-12.
  • Second, Mary Ann Dudley presented on behalf of the Carlisle Lions Community Ambulance and explained their dire need for funding for repairs. 10 days before they received the 2nd ambulance that they have worked so hard to fundraise for, the 1st ambulance broke down and needs repairs.
  • Third, Shirley Lueking presented on behalf of the Sullivan County Humane Society for operating funds as the humane society takes in approximately 1400 animals a year and spays/neuters each animal, along with microchipping before placing them in homes. They would also like to work towards a puppy play area to help socialize puppies that come into the shelter.

After the three strong presentations, the membership voted to fund…

THE CARLISLE LIONS COMMUNITY AMBULANCE! Congratulations!
